The details
Solid beech, hand-cut dovetails at every corner, and a cantilever tray that lifts on brass linkages to present the lower compartment without unpacking the upper one.
The lid is fitted with a removable panel holder that takes boards up to 30 × 40cm, so the box doubles as a field easel on a table.
Finished in hardwax oil rather than lacquer, so scratches can be rubbed out rather than lived with.

Care & keeping
Wipe with a barely damp cloth. Re-oil once a year, or whenever the surface stops beading water, using the tin provided. Do not store the box against an exterior wall in an unheated room.
