Our Story
Made for the moment inspiration arrives.
Inspiration keeps its own hours. It does not wait for the right paper, the clean brush or the pigment that is on its way. So FANTEASEA builds the tools that are ready when you are.
We source, dress and assemble — so you don’t have to think about the tools.
FANTEASEA began in a London studio with a very particular frustration. Great materials exist — the Kolinsky sable, the single-pigment watercolour, the cotton rag that lifts and rewets properly — but they live in different catalogues, at different price points, from suppliers who have no interest in whether they suit each other.
We started curating the combinations ourselves. A brush set sized to a palette. A palette chosen for the pigment load. Paper selected for how the brushes carry water. Everything calibrated so that opening the case is the beginning of the work, not a series of small decisions.
The kits grew into a catalogue, and the catalogue grew into a studio. We still make the same judgements on every product: does the material serve the work, or does it get in the way?
Three principles behind every product
01
Honest materials
We use the same pigments and filament across all skill levels. The beginner deserves the same quality as the professional — they will simply use less of it.
02
Considered assembly
A brush set calibrated to a palette. Paper chosen for the pigment load. We think about how each tool meets the next, so you don't have to.
03
Nothing extraneous
Every piece in the collection earns its place. If we cannot explain why something is there, it is not there.
Trusted in real studios
“The Atelier brushes have replaced a drawer of expensive mistakes. The 10/0 liner still comes to a perfect point after eighteen months of daily botanical work.”

“I teach a beginners' class of twenty. Switching them to the First Light kit removed almost every complaint I used to hear about muddy colour — it was never their technique, it was the pigment.”
David Osei-Bonsu
Workshop tutor · Manchester
“The Master Studio Kit arrived and I did not have to buy a single thing to start working. The brushes are sized to the pans, which sounds obvious until you own a set where they are not.”
Yuki Tanaka
Concept artist · Kyoto
“I carry the Nomad kit in a coat pocket across three countries a year. It has been rained on twice and dropped more often than that, and it still closes properly.”
