The details
Grading is where most graphite sets disappoint — the jump from 2B to 4B is often a cliff. Obsidian is milled on an even curve, so each step is a predictable increment of value.
The set adds three woodless graphite blocks for laying broad tone quickly, and two water-soluble grades for washes.
Barrels are matte black cedar, unlacquered where you grip.

Care & keeping
Woodless blocks will mark anything they touch — keep them in the sleeve provided. Kneaded erasers last longer if you fold and knead them clean rather than rubbing them out.
